Systems Test Engineer - Cybersecurity / Submarine Combat Systems

Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $47.81-$52.81/Hour
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)

This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
Support testing and validation of advanced Information Assurance (IA) / Cybersecurity systems for the U.S. Submarine Force.
Design, develop, and execute test plans, procedures, and reports to verify and validate system functionality and requirements.
Assemble and configure test environments, including computer hardware and network setup.
Perform informal and formal test events in accordance with program specifications.
Analyze requirements and develop effective methods for verification and validation.
Identify and document software, hardware, and firmware defects; collaborate with engineering teams for resolution.
Support testing and troubleshooting at off-site locations, including government labs and shipboard installations.
Install and validate IA software in both lab and field environments.
Participate in technical meetings and program reviews; provide regular progress updates.
Operate within a dynamic, cross-functional team across government and contractor stakeholders.
Occasional travel required to support system testing and integration at domestic and international locations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Technology field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.
5–10 years of experience with AN/BYG-1 combat systems.
Prior Navy experience as a Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT), Sonar Technician (ST), Electronics Technician (ET), Information Systems Technician (IT), or similar Surface Navy role.
Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in one technical discipline, with working knowledge of adjacent fields.
Demonstrated experience in system and software testing, analysis, and defect resolution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to configure, assemble, and test computer hardware.
Basic understanding of networking and protocols (e.g., UDP, TCP/IP, ICMP) and encryption principles.
Familiarity with Linux command-line operations.
Experience with Strike Software systems (TTWCS, TCIP, MDS) is preferred.
