Overview

DevOps Engineer, CyberSecurity Sr. Associate at RSM. We are a leading provider of professional services to the middle market globally. Our Security and Privacy Services Consulting (SPRC) practice serves cloud engineering needs with a focus on preventing, detecting, responding and recovering from security threats to critical systems and data. You will work directly with clients to advise, assess, implement and operate their critical operations in a client-facing role emphasizing cloud transformation, architecture, and DevSecOps engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable DevOps pipelines, cloud infrastructure automation, and site reliability engineering (SRE) best practices to optimize application delivery and performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, architects, and cybersecurity professionals, to accelerate digital transformation initiatives across industries.
  • Develop and deliver cloud-native transformations and CI/CD enablement for clients.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Transformation Leaders to help develop strategies and drive success in programs.
  • Perform hands-on development and configuration to design, develop, and implement cloud capabilities for clients.
  • Develop "as-code" cloud transformation accelerators for client engagements.
  • Understand business and technology risk and apply risk reduction techniques.
  • Grow marketplace skills in areas such as Cloud Engineering, Cloud Security, DevSecOps, Cloud FinOps, Cloud Migration, AI Development and Risk Management, Data Protection, Identity Management.
  • Identify and research complex technology and security challenges; assist clients with solving them.
  • Support engagement of Cloud Transformation Leaders and contribute to strategy execution.

Basic qualifications (Sr. Associate level)

  • Personable, problem-solving thinker who can develop a plan and contribute perspective to conversations.
  • Proactive, hands-on technical researcher who can develop plans and bring recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to interpret and convey technical information in written and oral form to varying levels of technical aptitude, including senior management.
  • Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Information Security or related fields.
  • Technical background in computer science or related fields; high integrity and confidentiality; ability to adhere to policies and best practices.

Experience and qualifications

  • 4-6+ years of experience in areas including: delivering engineering solutions as code on client cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP; and other common Cloud IaaS/SaaS).
  • Hands-on cloud engineering and architecture across cloud technologies and transformation initiatives (cloud strategy, core platform engineering, security, DevSecOps, operations, modernization, migration, AI/Data analytics).
  • Experience in cloud architecture design and software development, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Policy as Code (PaC), and cloud automation/integration.
  • Design, architect, implement and support enterprise cloud solutions; guide clients through end-to-end cloud journeys; work in integrated squads.
  • Development of internal solution summaries, accelerator tool kits, and demonstration scenarios; collaborate with consultants in other regions and practices.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree and 2-4 years of related experience
  • Proficiency with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience developing and implementing at-scale cloud and hybrid architectures
  • Ability to deliver end-to-end automation in a cloud environment
  • Experience with software build automation, CI/CD pipelines, and a DevSecOps approach
  • Experience with private, public and hybrid cloud deployments
  • IaC and PaC experience; Terraform proficiency; CSP native IaC languages (CloudFormation, ARM, Bicep)
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, PowerShell, C#/.NET, Bash, Go or equivalent languages
  • Knowledge of networking, security principles, and DevSecOps best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to interact with resources at all levels
  • Experience guiding clients in adopting cloud-native/serverless/containerized architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Experience with product management/agile delivery
  • Curiosity and self-education mindset with leadership support

Preferred qualifications

  • Landing Zone Development and Deployment
  • Cloud Managed Service Development and Delivery
  • SIEM/SOC experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Purview
  • Technology assessments, gap analyses, audits, and improvement recommendations
  • Cloud Security and Cloud FinOps tooling and approaches
  • Cloud security frameworks/maturity models (CSA CCM, NIST 800-53, CMMC, CIS, etc.)
  • Certifications such as AWS/Azure/Google cloud architect and DevOps engineer certifications
  • Proficiency with AWS Security Center and security services (IAM, Key Vault, etc.)
  • Cloud FinOps experience (cost management tooling and reporting)
  • Knowledge of security services (VPC, RDS, IAM, WAF, etc.) and logging/monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, Splunk)
  • GenAI infrastructure platform design and development
  • DevOps tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Experience with container registries/orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, ECR/ECS/EKS, AKS/etc.) and container security practices
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in technical coursework

Salary range: $85,100 - $161,700. Individuals selected may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
