Role

The Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking a Housekeeping Manager. This person will lead the department responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation of all MAC spaces, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff. This role oversees both the Housekeeping and Laundry teams, supervises departmental budgeting and sustainability efforts, and supports interdepartmental coordination across Maintenance, Security, Events, and Food & Beverage.

What You\'ll Do

• Direct all operations of the Housekeeping Department including laundry, special events prep, and complex facility care.
• Develop department goals aligned with MAC’s sustainability and service standards, including SHINE member interaction guidelines.

Facilities Oversight

• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of:
• Pools (Sundeck, 50-meter, training), locker rooms, steamrooms, and fitness areas
• Dining spaces, lounges, social and meeting areas, childcare facilities
• Event spaces, stairwells, elevators, retail spaces, and support zones
• Specialized areas including post-renovation zones and auxiliary service areas

Budgeting & Resource Management

• Manage an annual operating budget exceeding $700K, including labor, supply procurement, and equipment lifecycle planning.
• Oversee vendor contracts and sourcing for green cleaning products, linens, and equipment maintenance.

Sustainability & Compliance

• Lead waste reduction, composting, and recycling initiatives in line with MAC's environmental goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and OSHA/CDC regulations; maintain protocols across varied facility types.

People & Culture

• Hire, train, evaluate, and coach housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Foster a collaborative culture with other departments; act as the department liaison in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
• Ensure consistent delivery of the SHINE member experience policy and respond to concerns with 95% issue resolution within 24 hours.

What You\'ll Bring

• 5+ years in a senior housekeeping/laundry leadership role, ideally in a large-scale, multi-use facility.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations, budgets, and team development.
• Strong administrative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with facility management systems (e.g., Dayforce, Microsoft Excel).
• Ability to lift 20 lbs; work occasionally in confined, wet, or outdoor spaces.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, laundry procedures, and sanitation standards.
• Understanding of safety and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA, PPE, and SDS protocols.
• Ability to develop schedules, manage labor resources, and respond to operational needs quickly and effectively.
• Leadership and team-building skills that promote staff accountability, morale, and service quality.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
