Summary

The Account Manager is responsible for the positioning and selling of the Pacira portfolio within the assigned territory. This includes pharmacological & technical knowledge of Pacira’s portfolio and its value proposition. The Account Manager will work with the Regional Director to develop a sound business plan aimed at exceeding defined sales revenues for the territory. The role requires applying product knowledge, institutional and office relationships, and business acumen to meet and exceed sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify target markets in accordance with organizational strategy using account-based operations and available tools and dashboards.
  • Exceed corporate revenue objectives within the assigned geography.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, health care providers, and pharmacy teams to promote Pacira products within accounts and geography.
  • Develop and maintain expertise of all products.
  • Demonstrate effective time management to increase sales productivity and execute sales activities to achieve objectives.
  • Participate with Regional Director in strategic and tactical planning.
  • Update and document sales account information via the Veeva system.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the conversion process within hospitals, ASCs or offices.
  • Develop and execute sales and retention strategies for target markets and customers.
  • Complete face-to-face meetings with physicians, schedulers, practice managers, and medical staff to close business and identify obstacles.
  • Manage territory with office visits, including education on services and new advances.
  • Communicate opportunities, market trends, and issues to management in a timely manner; prepare and present opportunities and challenges to leadership.
  • Manage expense budgets in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with clinical data supplied by the company and present it to health professionals during presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct selling experience to hospitals and healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, or healthcare industry.
  • Minimum 1 year of OR selling experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Experience with Hospital Credentialing processes to gain access to facilities.
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management tools required.
  • Ability to travel extensively; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; reside in or near designated territory.
  • Knowledge of industry drivers, medical trends, and performance metrics to inform strategy.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytical skills with a customer focus.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to achieve high goals and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant mobile/web tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 90% of the time, including overnight stays.

Physical Demands

Frequent travel by automobile, air travel, and time spent in hospital/clinical environments. Ability to sit or stand for long periods and move quickly and safely in clinical settings.

Work Environment

Typical corporate office setting plus healthcare facilities (hospitals, medical centers, ambulatory care centers) and B2B accounts, including conferences and professional meetings.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this role is $112,000 - $130,000 per year. This range reflects geographic markets, business needs, and candidate experience.
