Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Director of Finance

The Director of Finance oversees the review, interpretation, and management of financial data from member institutions. Reporting to the President, this role supports accreditation processes, special projects, and ensures financial compliance and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Review financial data, audits, and management letters for accreditation compliance.
• Serve as a consultant for Compliance and Reports Committees and prepare staff memos.
• Update policies, procedures, and Institutional Profiles related to finance and enrollment.
• Verify and digitize financial data, flagging significant enrollment changes.
• Recruit, train, and manage financial evaluators for the evaluator registry.
• Liaise with state auditors and external entities on accreditation financial standards.
• Support appeals and arbitration with consistent financial standards application.
• Maintain active membership to stay current on financial accreditation issues.
• Assist in institutional research and address financial accreditation inquiries.
  
  

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 3 years as a finance officer at a college/university; CPA and accreditation experience preferred.
• Skills: Deep knowledge of college/university finances (public and private), proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong analytical and communication skills, and ability to manage projects independently.
