Regions Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to direct origination of residential mortgage loans from a borrower through a branch network. This role requires tracking time and is eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The position is commission-based with earnings that vary by location, performance, and production.

Overview

Join Regions as a Mortgage Loan Officer in Atlanta, GA. This role focuses on developing loan opportunities, evaluating borrower qualifications, and facilitating loan processing through Regions’ branch network.

Primary Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting departments
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history
• Maintains contact with loan customers, communicates progress of loan and collects required documentation
• Structures loan to comply with acceptable lending practices and Federal regulations
• Establishes and implements a marketing/business plan including potential and existing loan customers, realtors, builders, developers, etc., and the frequency of contact
• Responds to customer calls and walk-in inquiries to discuss various loan products and qualification information
• Makes sales calls to develop new business or retain existing business per Regions marketing plan
• Cross-sells other bank products and services
• Reads surveys and appraisals and takes necessary steps to address encroachments and violations
• Participates in networking through professional, business and community organizations to promote loan products

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) year of mortgage lending experience with proven mortgage production
• Experience developing external business via referral partners in the market (e.g., realtors, builders, financial planners)
• Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) is required

Preferences

• Bachelor's degree
• Prior Mortgage Loan Officer experience

Skills and Competencies

• Good organizational skills
• Knowledge of mortgage products, systems, terminology, tax requirements, and down payment assistance programs
• Familiarity with agency and investor regulations and guidelines
• Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships to deliver high levels of service
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Sales acumen and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Location flexibility within Georgia; strong production preferred (e.g., 10M+ annual)
