Position Overview
Reporting to The Property Accounting Manager, the Property Staff Accountant will play a critical role across our portfolio of industrial assets.
The position is in Philadelphia, PA and is not a remote position.

Responsibilities (including, but are not limited to the below):
- Analyze and explain variances in financial results (budget/forecast-to-actual and month-to-month). Prepare account reconciliations for property related accounts to assess validity, correctness, and appropriateness of balances; prepare adjusting entries when required.
- Assist in the preparation and review of property budgets
- Interpret lease set up within our property management system (Yardi), verifying accuracy against executed lease document(s)
- Interpret and apply our capitalization policy while working with our internal parties to manage capital expenditures draw process with lenders
- Understands the functionality of Yardi accounts receivable transactions and fully comprehends the impact of these transactions on the general ledger
- Onboard new properties as acquired to fold into monthly reporting process and help facilitate true up process with prior owners
- Record property tax accruals and/or amortization of prepaid property taxes; and trues up expense accruals and the liability or prepaid account
- Prepare and enter journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Comprehend policies and procedures and can provide assistance to other team members
- Provide recommendations for improving current practices
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field
- 1+ years of general accounting experience
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Yardi Voyager, Internet and email knowledge
- Conscientious, detail-oriented and produces accurate financial results and reports within required deadlines
- Able to communicate effectively and efficiently with peers, Property Managers, and supervisors; provides a high degree of customer service to the field offices and is cognizant of situations where supervisors need to become involved
- Familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures within the real estate industry
- Display a strong sense of personal accountability to identify and work within required reporting timelines
- Ability to interpret and understand Yardi accounts receivable transactions and fully comprehends the impacts of these transactions on the general ledger a plus
- Ability to interpret, communicate, and take action upon if needed regarding matters involving the CAM reconciliation / true-up process
