Your Role

As a Sr. Field Adjuster, Homeowner Claims, you will obtain and record required loss information from the insured. Under supervision, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle homeowners’ property/personal property claims, including adjustment to conclusion. This role involves low- to higher-complexity claims that typically require physical inspection. You will be the owning adjuster for all claims assigned at the Field Adjuster level and may progress to the competency level of a Level 5 Homeowner Adjuster. May be required to assign, coordinate, and oversee independent adjuster assignments.

Your Work

• Investigate and evaluate property loss claims of moderate-high severity in the field and virtually.
• Meet with insured or 3rd party virtually or in-person to photograph and inspect damaged property.
• Determine scope of repairs and prepare a repair bid using Xactimate.
• Agree on cost of repair with the insured and with applicable contractors.
• Follow the repair process to conclusion.
• With experts as needed, ensure the cause of loss is thoroughly investigated and identified.
• Settle and pay dwelling or other structure damages after coverage analysis.
• Handle correspondence to ensure regulatory compliance.

Required Experience, Education And Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum four years of claims experience, with a preferred emphasis on homeowner claims.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in basic math and computer skills, with the ability to type 30 wpm.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Experience handling multiple homeowner state policies and understanding of fair claims settlement practices and building codes preferred.
• Knowledge of Xactimate repair estimating system.
• Prior field inspection experience and knowledge of home construction.

• Willingness to travel for local and occasional in-person meetings.
