Overview

Milliman's Indianapolis Health practice is seeking a Healthcare Business Analyst. This is an entry-level position that supports multiple life sciences client teams by managing client relationships, analyzing complex datasets, and turning analysis into solutions and strategies for client accounts. You will collaborate with project managers, data analysts, other entry-level staff, editorial, creative and quality groups to ensure that work product and production processes match the highest level of quality expectations. As part of the career development pathway, you will lead projects that support the strategies of our clients and begin to develop subject matter expertise in the U.S. healthcare industry.

Responsibilities: In this role, you will:

  • Utilize your analytical, written, and verbal communication skills to answer data-driven questions on key topics in the healthcare industry
  • Use complex databases to analyze client data and summarize findings through presentations, spreadsheets, data visualizations, and other reports
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for and interest in developing trusted client-facing relationships
  • Develop and track progress on detailed project plans and reliably communicate project status with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with a wide-ranging array of professionals to develop data-driven marketing materials
  • Coordinate project reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Turn data insights into actionable solutions and strategies to solve complex problems
  • Communicate outcomes to audiences who are less familiar with the data

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts, with a genuine interest in growing into a client-facing consulting role
  • Curious self-starter and willingness to learn when faced with unfamiliar subject matter
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks by deadlines while involved with multiple projects
  • Passionate about building trusted relationships with external clients and internal colleagues
  • Interest in developing a diverse skill set and taking on a variety of responsibilities across projects
  • Strong presentation, organization, and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working independently as part of a cross-functional project team

Education and Requirements

  • Currently enrolled or have completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher in analytics or mathematics-related field (e.g., Business Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics) and available for full-time employment immediately or by summer 2026
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, or similar software, for the analysis and communication of quantitative results
  • Exposure to data analysis using quantitative software (e.g., Python, R, SAS, SQL)

The Team

The life sciences consulting team is a group of 60+ individuals in the Indianapolis Health practice from varying backgrounds including actuaries, data analysts, pharmacists, and graphic designers. This group works primarily with life sciences companies and consults on their relationship with insurance companies and other stakeholders of the pharmaceutical value chain.

Location

The role is in a dynamic, hybrid environment with 2 to 3 days per week on-site in our Indianapolis office.

Compensation

The overall salary range for this role is $54,900 - $85,100. A combination of factors will be considered including education, relevant work experience, qualifications, and skills. Milliman offers a performance-based bonus plan, profit sharing, and comprehensive benefits.
