About the Role
We are seeking a Sr. Enterprise Account Executive to join our Enterprise/Field Sales team. In this expert-level role, you will lead Cloudflare's most strategic customer engagements and drive platform sales within focused accounts. The ideal candidate possesses sales leadership, a strong understanding of enterprise architecture across business, data, applications, and technology, and the ability to articulate how Cloudflare integrates into modern cloud operating models.
You will demonstrate high-level sales proficiency, including accurate forecasting and strategic pipeline management, and you will educate customers and partners on Cloudflare’s product ecosystem and its role in security. This role involves engaging with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, and leading virtual teams to navigate and close complex opportunities, shaping customers' digital transformation journeys.
What You'll Do
- Executive-Level Strategic Revenue Leadership: Own and execute territory and account plans, consistently exceeding multi-million dollar sales targets and quotas by closing large-scale platform sales within focused accounts.
- Forecasting & Pipeline Mastery: Maintain accurate forecasts and proactive pipeline management, providing strategic guidance to shape the sales organization.
- Enterprise Architecture Expertise: Understand customer Enterprise Architecture across four pillars and map Cloudflare solutions to modern cloud operating models.
- C-Suite Engagement & Sponsorship: Lead complex engagements with CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs; manage executive sponsorship programs.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead virtual teams (Product Managers, VPs, SVPs) to manage and close strategic opportunities; resolve roadblocks and drive delivery.
- Digital Transformation Visionary: Articulate Cloudflare’s role in customers’ digital transformation and identify market-trend opportunities.
- Organizational Communication & Feedback: Communicate across departments and locations; provide performance feedback to improve organization-wide results.
- Long-Term Strategic Impact: Consider long-term implications of decisions and build trust by modeling Cloudflare’s standards.
- Goal Definition & Efficiency: Define quarterly goals and metrics; understand interdependencies and drive efficiency.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Proactively address needs and drive positive change across the organization.
- Inclusive Leadership: Bring diverse perspectives to address current and future challenges.
Examples of Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- 10+ years of expert-level experience selling complex, multi-million dollar technology solutions in a B2B enterprise model with a track record of meeting or exceeding quota.
- Deep knowledge of Cloudflare’s product suite and the broader security landscape; ability to educate customers and partners at an expert level.
- Mastery of Customer Enterprise Architecture (Business, Data, Applications, Technology) and mapping to cloud operating environments.
- Experience applying and managing executive sponsorship programs with CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs.
- Proven ability to lead virtual teams (VPs/SVPs) to close strategic opportunities.
- Expertise in digital transformation and market trends; ability to position Cloudflare as a strategic partner.
- Strong strategic communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for senior stakeholders.
- Long-term thinking with the ability to trade short-term gains for long-term benefits.
- Ability to define team goals, drive cross-department efficiency, and address roadblocks.
- Proficiency in advanced sales and BI platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, G Suite, Microsoft 365).
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
- Ability to travel extensively as required.
Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. Estimated annual salary of $320,000- $350,000 (base/variable). This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan.
Equity
This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
