Position Title: Office Assistant

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Exemplary interpersonal, communication, technology, organizational, clerical skills.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Reception duties
  2. Collect attendance and follow-up phone calls related to attendance
  3. Xeroxing
  4. Fill supply requisitions for teachers and staff
  5. Inventory supply orders
  6. Typing and filing of purchase orders as requested by the principal
  7. Registration of new students
  8. Distribution of new student records to teachers and nurse
  9. Removal of transferring students from appropriate lists
  10. Completion of permanent record card
  11. Send records of transferring students to requesting school
  12. Distribution of papers to teachers and students
  13. Distribution of mail to teachers and staff
  14. Compile ADA/AMA reports
  15. Refer students with attendance problems to the School Principal
  16. Compile and post daily student attendance
  17. Contact parents of students not in compliance with attendance policy
  18. Substitute for nurse for minor items in the absence of the nurse or health assistant
  19. Assist parents in retrieving their children from school
  20. Maintain Xerox machine and ensure paper supply
  21. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal

Technical:

  • Manage school records according to Illinois School Student Records Act, ensuring efficient retrieval and archival responsibilities
  • Maintain the school office environment and supplies
  • Use existing technology effectively in duties
  • Be computer literate and competent in technology use

  • Maintain contact with professional nursing organizations and pursue continuing education
  • Participate actively in the school community, representing health/wellness
  • Perform duties as assigned by school leadership

Physical Demands:

Manual dexterity required for precise physical operations. Handling average weight materials or equipment. Exposure to disagreeable elements may occur.

Terms of Employment: 180 days; Monday - Friday

Salary Range: Starting at $15.64 per hour
