Overview
Floating Receptionist (Internally named Medical Office Assistant) in our Los Angeles, CA office. You will provide the same level of attention and detail to each patient, maintain a smooth flow of examinations, and cover the front desk to ensure all questions and inquiries are handled accordingly.
The position is full time, Monday through Friday, with weekends required. Schedule is 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Pay range is $22.00 - $24.00 hourly. Travel to surrounding clinics in the greater LA area is required. Travel will be less than 25%, with paid travel time and mileage reimbursement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Routes examinee to exam room, vitals room, and/or x-ray room as needed.
- Reviews chart and verifies exam- ine information is available for examining physician.
- Prepares examinee for examination by performing and recording height and weight.
- Chaperones examinations with female examinees or as requested by physician, when necessary.
- Responsible for set-up, maintenance, and cleanliness of exam rooms. Reports any issues or maintenance needs to management.
- Maintains a smooth flow of examinations to ensure appointments are kept on schedule.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
- Ensures all practices are carried out in accordance with state and federal safety and legal regulations.
- Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
- Promotes effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and supplies.
- Participates in various educational and/or training activities as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation for travel.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 1-2 years on-the-job experience in a medical office or related field preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Adequate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medications and laboratory values.
- Knowledge of general computer operations (including fax, copier, scanner, and telephone).
- Knowledge of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
