Entry level Receptionist Position which is a great way to get into a clinical environment.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the site designate leader, perform functions related to business and office maintenance activities including patient appointments, registration, billing, cash collection, and phone communication. Follow established policies and procedures. Demonstrate good customer service skills. Follow Corewell philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Essential Functions

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Answer telephone and direct calls appropriately. Communicate effectively, considering age, culture, and developmental needs.
  • Access computer or appointment information to perform patient exams. Prepare paperwork, verify patients, confirm physician's orders, generate exam requests, and relay information to patients and families in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Schedule appointments and consult with physicians' offices as needed. Manage film purging and transfer.
  • Answer phones, assist, and direct calls courteously and efficiently.
  • Prioritize work, be a team player, manage immediate concerns, and provide prompt, adequate information to customers. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Monitor inventories and order supplies as needed.
  • Demonstrate competence in computer applications.
  • Maintain employee medical records according to protocol.
  • File medical records and correspondence, and interfile test results.
  • Operate standard office equipment like Microsoft Office, calculators, copiers, dictation devices, and fax machines.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills, multi-tasking ability, sensitivity to others.
  • Ability to prioritize, self-motivate, handle stressful situations.
  • Manage details accurately in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service.

Preferred:

  • 1-year experience in a clinical office setting.
  • Basic computer skills.
