Associate Restaurant Manager – Taco Bell Owings Mills, MD

The Associate Restaurant Manager (ARM) plays a key leadership role by supporting the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing daily operations and maintaining operational excellence across all aspects of the restaurant. This position ensures a high level of customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, food safety, and team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure prompt, friendly service and adherence to brand standards.
  • Track and address guest feedback to improve service levels and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Enforce strict compliance with food safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Support the development and execution of the restaurant’s annual operating plan.
  • Analyze key financial metrics including sales, labor, and food costs; identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Mentor team members in profitability best practices.
  • Assist with capital expenditure planning and vendor relations.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including food prep, service speed, and order accuracy.
  • Conduct routine inventory checks and ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Monitor and maintain restaurant equipment and facilities to company standards.
  • Create and oversee staff scheduling to optimize coverage and labor costs.
  • Lead HR-related activities including hiring, training, performance management, and terminations in alignment with company policies.
  • Personally manage crew hiring decisions and development plans.
  • Conduct ongoing training using Learning Zone modules; support career progression of team members.
  • Maintain a positive, fair, and compliant workplace culture across all shifts.
  • Achievement of restaurant Annual Operating Plan (AOP) goals.
  • Improved year-over-year sales, margins, and cost management.
  • Weekly/periodic targets for labor, food costs (COGS), and sales.
  • Positive results in PRC scores, guest satisfaction metrics (DISSAT), and mystery shops.
  • Reduction in crew turnover and achievement of training certifications across staff.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills in a high-paced restaurant environment.
  • Experience managing both FOH and BOH operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including ability to interpret P&L and implement improvements.
  • Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Must show continual progress toward an Individual Development Plan with the goal of becoming a Restaurant General Manager.
