The DoubleTree by Hilton McLean Tysons is seeking a Restaurant Server to join our team and work PM shifts in Tysons Social Tavern. This role is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner, adhering to health regulations and local liquor laws, ensuring exceptional guest service, and following brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Service: Anticipates and responds to guests in a friendly, positive and timely manner. Provides high-quality service, establishes rapport with guests, follows the guest service recovery program, and responds to feedback to maximize guest satisfaction scores.
  • Serving Duties: Takes orders attentively, uses proper serving techniques, is knowledgeable about specials and promotions, actively up-sells menu items to maximize revenue, adheres to health regulations and local liquor laws, and follows cash handling/POS procedures.
  • Side Work: Completes required side work including cleaning restaurant and stations, coffee and coolers, vacuuming, trash removal, and stocking supplies.
  • Expense Control: Follows procedures when handling cash and processing transactions; uses equipment properly and adheres to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
  • Safety: Maintains a clean and safe work area according to regulations; follows procedures for incidents; is knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
  • Self/Workload Management: Plans, organizes, prioritizes work duties; adheres to attendance and grooming standards; attends required department and hotel meetings.
  • Teamwork: Takes room service orders, assists bartenders, works as a team to meet guest needs, supports other departments as needed, and completes duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired, or the ability to obtain certification is required.
  • One or more years of previous guest service experience.
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guest needs.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly; ability to walk, stand, carry, and lift continuously.
  • Prefer one or more years of serving experience in a fast-paced restaurant.

Will need to be available to work AM Shift and PM Shift. Breakfast Hours: 7am-10am. Bar Hours: 3pm-12am.
