Overview

The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing guests with high-quality service in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. Responsibilities include receiving and delivering orders and collecting payments.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain attentiveness, friendliness, helpfulness, and courtesy to all guests, managers, and colleagues.
  2. Be familiar with the organization of the restaurant, lounges, and room service, and understand each role.
  3. Have thorough knowledge of menus and specials.
  4. Serve food and beverages attentively and courteously.
  5. Pre-bus tables and remove soiled dishes after each course.
  6. Operate the POS system effectively.
  7. Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and preparing shift reports.
  8. Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work as per station rotation and checklists.
  9. Keep tables and side stands stocked, tidy, and clean.
  10. Maintain beverage levels at least ¾ full.
  11. Break down trays of dishes and linens in the dishroom.
  12. Answer phones professionally.
  13. Upsell food, beverages, and promotions to guests.
  14. Know fire extinguisher locations and usage.
  15. Deliver food and drinks and process payments.
  16. Ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience advantageous.
  2. Flexible schedule; ability to work long hours.
  3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and carry full trays.
  4. Ability to stand throughout the shift and maneuver in the dining area.
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  7. Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  8. Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming.
  9. Adhere to hotel standards and regulations for safety and efficiency.
  10. Show initiative and problem-solving skills.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a friendly, warm demeanor.
