Position Summary

The Bartender understands and follows alcohol serving laws. They prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages while interacting with customers, taking and serving food as necessary. The Bartender maintains a clean and sanitized environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows recipes to prepare cocktails and other drinks, including adding garnish.
• Serves members and customers promptly, checks identification, accepts payment, and answers questions.
• Maintains cleanliness by cleaning bar surfaces, furniture, and equipment, and returning used dishware to the bar/kitchen.
• Re-stocks liquors, wines, beer, and non-alcoholic ingredients; replaces beer barrels.
• Reconciles the bar's cash register at the end of each shift.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 to 2 years of bartending experience.
• Certified to serve alcohol.
• CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire.
• Ability to routinely bend and lift more than 20 lbs.
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the cafe for extended periods.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with inventory management and ordering.
