Dock Worker / Loader - Nights – Cash-Wa Distributing
Role: Dock Worker / Loader (Nights). Join a busy warehouse divided into Dry, Cooler, and Frozen areas with rotation between zones. Loaders play an essential role in the transportation process to ensure customer satisfaction.
Purpose: Quickly, correctly, and securely load pallets and boxes into trailers so that route drivers can unload without delays. Requires strong attention to detail to ensure items are loaded in the correct order.
Hours: Sunday–Thursday; start time 4:30 PM, approximately 45–50 hours per week.
Wage: $19.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Receive and review load sheets to determine what must go on the truck.
- Prepare night-shift loads by organizing pallets and boxes in route order to fit into the night orders.
- Load products onto the trailer using a pallet map; arrange items in reverse order of stops so delivery #1 is near the back doors for driver access.
- Place pallets/boxes from the day shift next to or on top of corresponding night-shift pallets for same stops; regular lifting and hand stacking of boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Ensure all boxes and pallets for the truck are loaded and placed correctly relative to the bulkhead (frozen vs. cold vs. dry) to prevent spoilage or rejection.
- Secure the load to prevent shifting during transport (including use of load locks) and perform final load checks.
- Scan temperature tubes and verify correct temperatures; take a photo of the load as required.
- Notify the driver when the load is complete.
Experience
- Trailer loading/unloading experience preferred
- Pallet jack experience preferred
- Warehouse experience helpful
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift up to 65 lbs
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
