Pay Rate: $18.50/hour

Shift 1: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday

We’re looking for a dock driver to operate an electric-powered forklift to safely move, lift, stack, or transport products, equipment, and materials. The dock driver is also responsible for completing load sheets by recording the date, carrier, and trailer, and signing off to ensure all products are loaded accurately.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Move levers and pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
  • Position forks, lifting platforms, or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products or materials and transports load to designated area.
  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
  • Change battery occasionally.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Forklift certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to pass the Snelling vision test.

Lift (occasionally) 1 to 40 lbs. boxes of product; side access door of reach truck (15 lbs.) from 6 40 in. to 6 40 in. on an indoor surface to operate reach truck. Standing (frequently) on a level, floorboard of reach truck surface controls/levers of reach truck to operate reach truck. Standing work (occasionally) on a level, confined spaces surface scanner to operate reach truck. Stair climbing (rarely) 32 steps on fixed stair, (stair height of 10 in.), 5 to 10 times per shift to operate reach truck. Ladder climbing (rarely) 1 steps on entry step of reach truck ladder (12 in. height climbed), 20 to 30 times per shift to operate reach truck. Grip both hands with a force of 55 to 65 lbs. gripping battery plug in connections, with a diameter of 3 to 4 in. at a 30 in., multiple times per shift to operate reach truck. Coordination (continuously) both hand(s) operate levers and controls of the reach truck to operate reach truck. Ability to work at heights.
