Overview


Dock & Door – Team Leader at Atlanta Fork Lifts, Inc. The Team Leader provides daily direction and communication to assigned team members so that customer service calls are answered in a timely, efficient, and knowledgeable manner. The Team Leader continually evaluates processes in the field and suggests improvements to operations, efficiency, and service for internal and external customers. The Team Leader sets the example for the team.


Responsibilities



  • Serve as the first-line supervisor to technicians on the team (typically 3–7 members).

  • Perform repairs on loading docks, overhead doors, and various types of industrial equipment at customer sites.

  • Work with the Dock & Door Coordinator to assign service calls and follow up to ensure quality installation or repair service.

  • Communicate with customer contacts and staff to support uptime of their warehouse operations.

  • Attain 100% PM completion and improve response time within the team’s defined area.

  • Coordinate with the D&D Manager on staffing, training, scheduling, and performance recognition programs.

  • Address team member questions, concerns, and coaching needs; provide guidance and resolution as needed.

  • Provide coaching and performance feedback; write or assist with performance reviews with the Service Manager.

  • Maintain a high-quality work environment to motivate team members to perform at their best.

  • Address disciplinary and performance issues and escalate to the D&D Manager as required.


Requirements



  • Ability to communicate effectively; strong team skills; excellent time management and organization; high sense of urgency.


Education/Certification/License



  • High School Diploma/GED


Work Conditions / Physical Demands


Must have the physical stamina to perform tasks with full-body motion (climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting, etc.). Work is performed in maintenance environments with potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, or solvents. Work at customer locations including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, cold storage facilities, and sometimes outdoor environments. May include work in our shop area. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
