Case Dock Laborer 3rd shift Job at Dairy Farmers of America in Nashville

Overview

Purity Dairies is looking for a Case Dock Laborer for our Nashville facility. The schedule will be 1st shift Monday - Friday 10 pm- 6:30 am. Sign-on bonus up to $1000 after completing the first 90 days of employment. Purity Dairy has immediate job openings for a Case Dock Laborer to perform all-purpose duties, including ensuring empty cases are available to production departments to meet production schedules, maintaining and cleaning all equipment in the assigned area, sliding case stacks from truck using milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate, ensuring conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent production delays, and confirming the empty case area is full of cases at the end of shift to help the next shift with production run. Case Dock Laborer will be required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and communicate effectively with all departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform all-purpose duties in the case dock area to support production schedules, including stocking empty cases and maintaining equipment; move cases from trucks using milk hooks or pallet jacks; ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent delays; verify the empty case area is ready for the next shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience preferred but not required.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach, and bend virtually the entire shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is necessary.
• Must be able to work in a wet environment; may occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Be able to effectively work in a team environment; legibly write entries for record keeping; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
