Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist producers, anchors, and show teams with daily broadcast production tasks.
- Attend production meetings and contribute to content planning.
- Type, edit, format, and distribute scripts and rundowns.
- Organize travel arrangements and accommodations for cast, crew, and production executives.
- Create and distribute call sheets and production schedules.
- Support on-air talent and guests, including coordinating logistics and providing necessary materials.
- Run errands between production offices, studios, and other departments.
- Track show timing and coordinate with the control room to ensure smooth transitions.
- Assist with setting up and preparing pre-recorded content for live broadcasts.
- Work with the post-production team to create shot lists, logs, and other necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with editors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality video content.
- Maintain organization of production assets, including scripts, footage, and rundowns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the production team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Broadcasting, or a related field preferred.
- Previous newsroom experience (internships or production assistant roles) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable interest in current events, politics, and media.
- Excellent writing and organizational skills, with sharp attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure news environment with tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with non-linear video editing (Adobe Premiere, Avid, Final Cut) is a plus.
- Familiarity with HD camera equipment and newsroom production technology is a plus.
- Professional appearance.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as news dictates.
