Role Overview
The Production Assistant in the Distillery will be responsible for working closely with the Lead Distiller and Head Distiller as well as the rest of the Distillery production team and will be expected to support all of the tasks and activities associated with creating our spirits program including distillation, packaging, cocktail program and beyond as we progress. This opportunity promises an invigorating and exciting environment where good work is done so we always ask for flexibility and a sense of humor in addition to other valuable traits like intent, hard work, and good communication skills.
This is a full-time position and will be based in Charlton, MA with the potential for occasional travel to other Tree House locations.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm with the potential to work beyond normal hours and weekends as necessary, with as much notice as possible.
As a Production Assistant in the Distillery, you will be responsible for the following:
- Assisting in the distillery with day to day tasks such as preparing grain, cleaning, and sanitizing as needed
- Following the existing Distillery detailed SOPs and protocols
- Help with bottling and packaging operations: filling, capping, labeling, and boxing
- Assist in the movement and storage of raw materials and finished products
- Operate, clean, and maintain equipment including pumps, hoses, and labeling/packaging equipment
- Support inventory management: receiving, tracking, and organizing supplies and ingredients
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures
- Many other varied tasks as required throughout the distillery
Role Requirements:
- Passion for craft spirits and interest in the distillation process
- Previous forklift training and experience is a plus
- Ability to push, pull, bend, and lift in excess of 50 lbs. as necessary to perform required tasks as assigned throughout the workday
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- You are self-motivated and hard-working, with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- A quick learner who is able to work with minimal or no supervision
- Ability to work long hours on your feet, with repetitive tasks that require unrelenting focus and attention
- Ability to multitask and work coolly and professionally in time sensitive situations
- Meticulous attention to detail
