Seasonal Production Assistant, ESPN Next
The Seasonal Production Assistant will assist with content creation for various ESPN platforms. The role includes assisting the team in multiple facets of production, such as producing video elements, transcribing sound, and contributing content ideas.
This is a seasonal position for 40 weeks or when 1500 hours have been logged, whichever comes first. Employment may end sooner at the company's discretion based on business needs. This seasonal position is associated with the ESPN NEXT Program, but benefits do not apply to this role. There is potential for conversion to a full-time Production Assistant role within the NEXT program, based on performance and the availability of open positions.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely, accurate, and complete delivery of multimedia content and publish to various platforms.
- Edit video elements and research video content for various games/networks.
- Produce a variety of elements: teasers, opens, v/o’s, and montages for live events.
- Assist with live events by gathering video and sponsorship elements for broadcasts.
- Coordinate graphics for assigned games, telecasts, or remote live events
- Log and archive video and associated data for future use
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of experience in sports media, preferably in television production, or involvement with a collegiate TV station
- Strong working knowledge of major sports, especially those featured prominently on ESPN (e.g., Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Softball, Gymnastics).
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
- Flexibility to work nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ESPN’s content, platforms, and programming.
- Awareness of current media trends across digital, social, and linear platforms.
- Experience with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
- Understanding of server-based media workflows and asset management systems.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
