Job Title: Production Worker – 2nd Shift

Location: Altavista, VA

Shift: 2nd Shift 3:00PM - 11:30PM

Job Summary

As a Production Worker on the 2nd shift at Abbott Laboratories, you will play a key role in the manufacturing and packaging of high-quality healthcare products. You will operate machinery, perform quality checks, and ensure that production goals are met in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform routine quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area.
  • Accurately complete production documentation and logs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
  • Assist with line changeovers and equipment setups as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and SOPs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., FDA, GMP).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
