LHH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near the Crawfordsville, IN area. This is a unique opportunity to join a large, successful organization with a rich history and outstanding reputation in the community. In this role, you will join a well-established Engineering Team and focus on process improvement, project management, problem-solving, and other production-related engineering duties. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $80,000-90,000 per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive medical insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with an uncapped company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop effective manufacturing processes by evaluating product requirements, determining manufacturability, and designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment to ensure desired results
- Apply industry knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, and tooling, and materials and collaborate with production associates
- Identify and resolve process operating problems, investigate equipment failures, draft follow-up action reports, and share technical assistance with workers on the floor
- Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during manufacturing process
- Complete capital projects and process improvement projects
- Participate in and/or lead Kaizen events to improve manufacturing processes, implement Lean techniques, increase quality outcomes, and more
- Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for the completion of daily tasks and then report on those activities
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering staff as well as outside contractors to improve equipment care, services, repairs, and work practice
- Monitor and improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow while optimizing space and equipment layout
- Identify new and creative solutions to resolve complex issues during the manufacturing process
- Handle additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required
- Minimum of three years of manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering experience within a manufacturing facility is required
- Must have experience working on the production floor with various types of manufacturing equipment
- Must possess the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams/schematics
- Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
- Must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is able to succeed with little supervision
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
