What You’ll Do
As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing our manufacturing processes and designs to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and cost-effectively. You will work closely with our suppliers, engineers, contract manufacturers, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction. You will design, develop, and implement process improvements and technical product changes and monitor the effectiveness of these changes.
This is a hands-on position that requires a strong analytical and practical background working with mechatronic systems, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment. We are looking for a dynamic, talented, and pragmatic individual that will contribute from day one. The successful candidate must be process-oriented, data-driven, and have prior experience working in a production setting.
- Develop and implement new manufacturing process improvements to optimize high-quality manufacturing operations.
- Conduct experiments and trials to validate process improvements and ensure high-yield results.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Participate in the design and development of new products to ensure manufacturability and optimize production efficiency.
- Monitor production performance and develop solutions to address any issues that arise.
- Drive manufacturing velocity, units per hour (UPH), cycle time (CT) first pass yield (FPY) to world-class standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to good manufacturing processes (GMP), including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Work with quality control specialists to ensure that products meet customer requirements and comply with regulatory standards.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a methodology for identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and production optimization throughout the supply chain.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis (cpk).
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and other design software tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Extreme attention to detail and obsession with quality.
Nice To Have
- Experience with automotive, aerospace, industrial, mechatronic or electromechanical device manufacturing.
- Experience with electronic documentation management systems (PLM), Arena/Agile experience preferred.
