Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our production team. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure high product quality. This role plays a key part in continuous improvement and supports cross-functional teams to meet Legacy’s production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret drawings; create AutoCAD designs for requested modifications
  • Generate router programs using software such as WoodWop
  • Produce AutoCAD and Inventor Pro drawings for internal and vendor requests
  • Design, 3D prints, and maintain production and quality jigs; maintain jig matrix, assign numbers, and manage spares
  • Provide on-floor product support, including root cause analysis for product-related issues
  • Create and submit custom box designs for Packsize systems
  • Offer Packsize support to production lines
  • Support BHX team with programming-related issues
  • Assist with new product design, CAD drawing creation, and prototyping
  • Conduct hardware testing for production (hinges, slides, screws, etc.)

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor Pro
  • Experience programming CNC routers (HOMAG, SCM, Biesse)
  • Familiarity with 3D printing software and hardware
  • Strong understanding of jig and fixture design
  • Solid problem-solving skills; able to lead root cause analysis
  • Experience with Packsize box-making systems preferred
  • Product development and prototyping experience
  • Hands-on experience with hardware testing for manufacturing applications

Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies (automation, IoT, smart manufacturing)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machines, PLCs, or robotics (if relevant)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (Preferred)
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering or process engineering role
  • Proven experience with process optimization, tooling design, and production support

Location

  • Anniston, AL — Salary range: $95,000.00–$110,000.00
  • Lincoln, AL — Salary range: $75,000.00–$85,000.00
