Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help determine manufacturing processes to meet product specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering to identify and resolve product and performance issues.
  • Assist in planning and designing methods to improve production efficiency.
  • Enhance equipment availability and capability using continuous improvement tools.
  • Define manufacturing standard working methods.
  • Analyze time, motion, methods, and speed to establish standards and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Review logs and sheets to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Plan work assignments based on performance, capacity, and schedules.
  • Create workflow diagrams, floor layouts, and utilization charts.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of automotive manufacturing experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Transfer line experience is highly beneficial.

Responsibility Level:

Moderate independent judgment with supervisory guidance.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge aligned with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers' standards for a Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT).
  • Proficiency in mathematics, science, process design, materials, manufacturing processes, quality control, and automation.
  • Experience with CAD software and blueprint reading.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of control systems, PLCs, robotics, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of shop floor control systems and manufacturing execution systems.
  • Strong tooling background and familiarity with transfer equipment.
