Provide daily hands-on manufacturing engineering support to the Reuel Business Unit in Aiken, SC. The Reuel BU uses a pressure gelation process to mold epoxy resin for electric components and equipment used in utility applications. This role involves developing and implementing tooling, machine, process, assembly, and testing improvements to enhance safety, quality, manufacturing efficiency, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new manufacturing processes and improve existing systems by studying product requirements, applying knowledge of materials, design, fabrication, assembly, and testing, and collaborating with vendors and operators.
  • Enhance manufacturing efficiency through workflow, space, and equipment layout planning.
  • Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Support decision-making by analyzing costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.
  • Prepare reports by analyzing data and trends.
  • Assist in new product launches by developing manufacturing fixtures and equipment.
  • Manage capital projects from initiation to completion, including preparing AFEs.
  • Maintain tooling and equipment through coordination of maintenance and repairs.
  • Update product and process data bases by writing and entering data.
  • Monitor scrap data, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.
  • Provide training and guidance to technicians and support staff.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
  • Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • At least 3 years of experience in a lean, hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) for designing fixtures and equipment.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with resin-transfer molding.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and/or programming.
