Your role at Baxter
Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for both new and existing products. Manages one or more production areas and coordinates key functions such as production, maintenance, engineering, R&D, safety, quality, scheduling, budgeting, and personnel. Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, EHS standards, and other applicable regulations. Develops and reviews operational plans to support performance goals and align with business objectives. Focuses on maintaining high standards in safety, quality, service, and cost efficiency.
What you’ll be doing
- Handles daily manufacturing operations of one of the manufacturing cells. Responsible for ensuring the quality and quantity of staffing requirements, budgets, costs, methods, labor efficiency, scrap, volume and associated benchmarks.
- Facilitates the invention, evaluation, and implementation of manufacturing process improvements.
- Interviews, hires, coaches, motivates, recognizes, and develops performance of direct reports. Provides regular feedback and sets performance objectives, support development plans, and monitor progress.
- Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOPs, equipment, policies, and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
- Interfaces with other managers/customers to ensure our quality commitments are met. Responsible for assuring compliance to all regulatory requirements.
- Supports plant-wide strategic plan, programs, and activities. Identifies, initiates, and facilitates continuous improvements, lean manufacturing activities and initiatives, such as 6S, visual management, kaizens.
- Participates as subject matter expert in audits.
- Works with support functions to secure services and resources and regularly interacts with senior leaders on matters concerning functional areas or customers.
- Responsible for development of the manufacturing annual operating budget and maintains expenses within the plan.
- Responsible for the formulation of long- and short-range planning for functional area.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5 or more years manufacturing/operations experience including a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
- Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
- In-depth process knowledge of related manufacturing equipment/processes and/or operations processes.
- Strong ability to handle multiple priorities and respond to detailed inquiries, including presenting to senior leaders.
- Skilled in analyzing scientific and statistical data, identifying root causes, and driving process improvements.
- Proficient in professional writing, including technical reports, and effectively communicating during audits or inspections.
- Knowledgeable in GMPs, regulatory guidelines, and audit-related activities, with strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Experienced in supervising multiple teams or shifts, handling budgets, and applying business insight in manufacturing operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and enterprise systems used in manufacturing environments.
Compensation and Benefits
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 – $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
