Location: Wausau, WI. This is a full-time engineering role focused on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to meet design specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement equipment and processes to manufacture products to design specifications and quality standards.
• Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls to enhance safety, quality, productivity and cost.
• Provide technical direction for assigned processes and equipment; develop and maintain written procedures and work instructions for those areas.
• Communicate with other departments and management regarding manufacturing capabilities, production requirements and other considerations to facilitate processes.
• Optimize existing production processes by implementing solutions for equipment effectiveness, flow and efficiency improvements.
• Design, develop, test, source and cost-justify tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
• Coordinate vendor and customer activity to support projects.
• Assist with technical aspects of Continuous Improvement projects and kaizen activity.
• Apply statistical methods and analyses for cost reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles (A3 problem solving, kaizen, SMED, 5S) and promote safety-related projects and mindset.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical, chemical, manufacturing or industrial engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of applicable experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
