Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Associates are responsible for raw materials, in-process ware flow, subassemblies, and finished goods used within the cable manufacturing process, including UV coloring, stranding, buffering, IPQC, jacketing, print/respool, cable repair, shipping/receiving, and cutting and packaging.
  • Beginning of shift check with Manufacturing Coordinator regarding assignments and production priorities.
  • Assemble shop papers, MIs and raw materials prior to start-up.
  • Start up and changeovers per standard operating procedures; monitor lines to ensure quality product and perform necessary PQA checks to ensure product is manufactured to specification.
  • Report non-conformance; ensure workspace is 5S ready, clean, and orderly; know performance metrics and work toward targeted objectives.
  • May perform weekly associate maintenance and proactively report equipment issues; perform preventive maintenance procedures and may troubleshoot.
  • Assist R&D with experiments as requested.
  • Load and unload raw materials; adhere to safe material transport protocols and environmental/hazardous materials guidelines.
  • Receive, stock, store, issue raw materials and miscellaneous items for production; maintain inventory accuracy using cycle counts and daily transactions.
  • Label and package reels for shipment to customers; verify QC paperwork, barcode, data sheets, and reel tags; inspect reels for damage and print statements.
  • Work in a team environment to optimize output of quality product, assist others, and promote safety awareness.
  • This description is not an exhaustive list of duties; other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • May be required to acquire forklift certification.
  • Majority of work involves light lifting; there may be heavy lifting in rare instances with assistance; some exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and noise.

Qualifications

  • High School or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Forklift certification; in-depth MES knowledge preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes; knowledge of machine capabilities.

  • Salary range: $21.50 hourly rate - $26.25 hourly rate. Starting pay depends on location, experience, training, and education.
