Overview

Position Overview: The Senior Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in supporting both new and existing product development initiatives. This hands-on position focuses on optimizing complex machining processes—such as EDM, CNC milling, and grinding—for high-performance turbine components. The engineer will serve as the primary technical liaison with key customers, driving product launches, legacy product requalification's, and process validations within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Salary

Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of machining processes for intricate components using 3- and 5-axis grinding, EDM, and CNC milling.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for major customers, managing engineering communications and change requests.
  • Oversee the requalification of legacy products, including timeline creation and execution.
  • Define machining strategies—tool paths, fixtures, speeds/feeds, EDM parameters—to optimize quality, throughput, tool life, and cost.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Operations, Tooling, Vendors) to deliver robust production solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and lead corrective actions (CAPAs) to improve yield, reduce cycle time, and minimize scrap.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist in training operators on new or revised processes.
  • Utilize CAD/CAM tools (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks) for programming and process verification.
  • Support customer audits, first article inspections (FAIs), and documentation for PPAP/FAI as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering within regulated industries (e.g., Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Devices).
  • Experience in process development, manufacturing documentation, and New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Skilled in CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, and Vericut.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication skills with proven customer-facing experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or other regulated manufacturing standards.
  • Background in legacy product restarts or reverse engineering.
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
