Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Position Title: Manufacturing Supervisor

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Type: Full time

Travel: 10% or less

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Supervises: Machinists, Welders, Assemblers, and Painters

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Supervisor will manage machining, welding, paint and assembly production staff and work. It will be their responsibility to train staff and drive improvements throughout production so that the business is easily scalable to accommodate higher volume/more complex assemblies or designs.

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Promotes and demonstrates Wurtec’s core values (dedicated, hardworking, ambitious, willing to accept responsibility, and integrity).
  • Ensures hourly team members are meeting labor requirements and jobs are completed on time.
  • Manages hourly shop floor employees to ensure that all quality and safety requirements are followed.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage personnel issues, discipline, performance, etc.
  • Experience in Manufacturing processes (machining, weld, paint, assembly) is necessary as this job requires 30-100% of the time spent on the shop floor working with the hourly team and if needed, running equipment.
  • Leads hourly shop floor employees by orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities. Follow the training matrix to ensure employees are being trained in a timely manner.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Provide support/suggestions regarding product improvement, evaluation, cost reduction, alternate component sourcing, etc. and submit engineering changes as needed.
  • Monitor and drive teams to make continuous improvements and achieve metrics.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • Full-time/in-person attendance is an essential function of this job.

Technical Skills:

  • Aptitude for learning company ERP, Epicor.
  • Strong computer skills, data entry, and Microsoft Office.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works effectively both independently and as a team.

  • Can take directions and provide back-up support where needed.


Education & Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a related position
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Two-year college or technical degree in related field.
  • Journeyman Certificate (preferred)


Work Environment:

This role primarily operates in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled and can require sitting or standing for long periods of time and occasional exposure to vibrations, oils, or mechanical moving parts. The physical nature of this role is considered light work and involves frequently lifting to 10 lbs. and occasionally lifting to 50 lbs. at a time. It requires standing, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and crouching. Near visual acuity, and the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech is required. This role is not eligible to considered for full-time/hybrid remote work.
