Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer: Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for the coordination of manufacturing operations.

Job Responsibilities

The essential functions and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish a strong focus on internal and external customer service
  • Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Provide technical support and assist in resolution of manufacturing problems as required
  • Confers with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure proficient production methods
  • Confers with vendors to resolve equipment, materials, and/or quality issues impacting the quality of the end product
  • Applies statistical methods to analysis of key manufacturing processes and controls
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BOM structure and change control process
  • Comprehensive understanding of product line designs and project cost makeup
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player in pursuit and support of cost reduction activities to achieve company goals
  • Good interpersonal and training skills
  • Ability to work independently, resolve technical and manufacturing issues without detailed direction, and work as part of a team
  • Capability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel as required to customer sites for technical support and training
  • Takes a lead role in the identification, purchase, and implementation of new equipment on the manufacturing floor
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair following manufacturer’s recommendations and procedures

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering or related discipline
  • 1 year of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related role
  • Alternatively, 15+ years of relevant experience in a responsible engineering position can be considered in lieu of formal degree
  • SolidWorks experience is a plus
  • Demonstrates accuracy and proficiency in responsibilities
  • Emerging leadership capabilities
  • Proficiency with PC and CAD software
