Silgan Dispensing is hiring: Manufacturing Engineer in Grandview

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer position will design, integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes. Work with designers to refine product designs to increase producibility and decrease costs. Assist manufacturing operations in the plant, including equipment problem solving, design changes for increased production efficiency of existing equipment, and design of new automated or hand assembly equipment for new product specifications. Manage project commercialization and international equipment relocations as schedules dictate. Design machine improvements and new features. Assemble and troubleshoot new designs. Assist maintenance with equipment problems. Conduct root cause analysis of equipment and product failures. Source parts and materials from internal and external sources.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
• Experience designing mechanical equipment, focusing on mechanisms, pneumatics, conveyors, and control systems.
• Strong understanding of machining and fabrication practices.
• Experience with tooling design, including fixtures and gauges.
• Experience with product design changes and engineering modifications for automated electrical and mechanical hardware.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with assembly equipment, tools, and gauges.
• Experience in root cause analysis of equipment and product failures.
• Participate in tooling/process reviews, cost reduction, mistake proofing, and other special projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement programs and operational initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor 's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in manufacturing operations or related. Employer will accept applicants with any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
• Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
