Detroit, Michigan - Business Development Lead/Account Manager at Ambe. Manufacturing Engineering. Direct Hire. Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Support production in reducing/eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies.
  • Create and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, Standard Operating Procedures and Line Balance documentation.
  • Meet or exceed labor content standards utilizing good assembly methodologies and ergonomics.
  • Support and maintain error-proofing methodologies, cell layout enhancements and update Master CAD layouts.
  • Support and develop department or maintenance projects/activities with good engineering direction. Take part or facilitate the team Lean strategies and methodologies and/or Six Sigma activities.
  • Facilitate process/continued improvement.
  • Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance relating to product, process and systems. Implement interim processes as required to correct or contain all non-conformances.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing/mechanical processes and equipment (PLC, torque tools and equipment).
  • Document all activities as required.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.

Limits of Authority

  • Advise Department Manager of situations that may pose a significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, employee safety or customer satisfaction results.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance relating to product, process and systems.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through the appropriate channels and verify implementation.
  • Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency is corrected.
  • Initiate project RFQs with supporting documentation to be signed.
  • Quote or negotiate pricing and timing from vendors for equipment and tooling.
  • Maintain and obtain approvals for facility layouts and process documentation.
  • Assist and support project management timelines.

Requirements

  • Two-year minimum college education and one year of experience in manufacturing and assembly operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills in labor analysis (time studies).
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Windows applications (Excel, Word, Project, Management, PowerPoint).
  • Good mechanical/technical skills.
  • Possess excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
  • Approximately 20% travel required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Relocation for this role is available and will be a one-time lump sum bonus.
