Overview
Job Description:
Job Summary: Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods to meet or exceed customer needs by utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
- Applies sound engineering judgment to problems, which may include conflicting design objectives.
- Recommends manufacturing equipment and processes designed to be efficient, cost-effective, and to promote quality and reliability.
- Active participant in a project development team from concept to production.
- Supports control plan development including inspection methodology, prevention controls, detection controls, reaction plans, inspection frequency rationale, and ongoing monitoring.
- Assists in project tracking and metric development to monitor ongoing performance.
- May train personnel in equipment usage and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: 4 year Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience: 3-5 years in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
