Purpose/Summary:
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient production of our high-reliability RF electronics. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position will maintain quality procedures and documentation in order to guarantee the highest quality, reliability, repeatability, and efficiency of all products in production.
Responsibilities
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement within manufacturing operations to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
- New Product Introduction: Collaborate with R&D and Product Development teams to ensure smooth transition of new products from design to production. Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products, considering scalability, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality Manager to implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address manufacturing issues and defects.
- Production Support: Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and resolve production bottlenecks to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality records. Generate reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to management.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and achieve cost savings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 6 years of direct experience
- Knowledge of IPC 610, IPC 620, MIL-STD-883
- Knowledge of ISO and AS9100 controls and regulations
- Knowledge of ESD procedures
- Experience with small to medium RF parts and components
- Skilled in manufacturing operations such as general mechanical assembly of electronics, soldering, wire bonding, epoxy attach, die attach, machining, plating, PCBAs, etc.
- Knowledge of various materials and processes; metals, ceramics, electronics, thermoplastics, semiconductors, etc.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to read and understand engineering, process, assembly, and traveler documentation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to apply analytical methods to resolve technical challenges
Additional Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory management
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
