Responsibilities
- Plan and perform a variety of duties involved in design, development, and continuous improvement of production machinery, equipment and facilities.
- Advise and assist maintenance personnel in solving equipment problems and machine repairs and support the completion of equipment and facility enhancements to promote safety, quality, and cost/service improvements.
- Develop and implement plans for cost reduction and plant efficiency improvements.
- Work with operators, team leaders, value stream managers, and planners to optimize process center layouts and designs incorporating material flow and line balancing.
- Use lean tools, communication skills and leadership abilities, lead and facilitate kaizen activities encouraging multi-functional groups to participate, and meet common goals.
- Lead and support capital expenditure requests and implementations using basic cost justification and business management principles.
- Engineering Change Order (ECO) processing - authorization of product and documentation changes.
You have
- Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
- Candidates with at least 1 year of background in a manufacturing setting within engineering.
- Basic knowledge, classroom and/or project experience in PLC, Electronics, Hydraulics, Welding methods, and Robotics.
- Experience in implementing and leading Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects.
- Experience using DMAIC/PDCA concepts in a project environment.
- Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Experience in robotics and automation, progressive dies and stamping, PLC and controls, Six Sigma Greenbelt or statistical analysis.
