The Mechanical Engineer will support mechanical systems within an assigned mill area and provide engineering support for other areas as needed. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, leading some capital projects, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. A solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals is required.

Responsibilities

• Support mill area mechanical needs to maintain production
• Specify, support, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment such as motors, couplings, clutches, gearboxes, fans, pumps, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, steam systems, conveying systems, and piping/ductwork
• Perform structural analysis and design work occasionally
• Conduct psychrometric analysis as needed
• Collaborate with maintenance teams on troubleshooting and modifications
• Lead mechanical support for capital projects
• Coordinate with Electrical and Process Engineers, operations, and maintenance teams
• Define work scopes with contractors and communicate schedules
• Create and update drawings using AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role (hydraulics experience is a plus)
• Ability to interpret hydraulic schematics, fan/pump curves, P&IDs, etc.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
