Job Summary

The Custodian, under the supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the college campuses.

Job Description

The Custodian’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning interior and exterior of all buildings, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, buffing, dusting, washing windows, louvers, and light diffusers.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of entrance areas, washrooms, offices, lounges, lunchrooms, corridors, and waste receptacles.
  • Assisting in snow removal and room setup, furniture moves, and stage setups.
  • Using equipment such as vacuum cleaners, hand tools, floor scrubbers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.
  • Demonstrating commitment to the college’s values of integrity, inclusion, unity, purpose, compassion, and excellence in student success.
  • Following all policies, procedures, and standards, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to walk or stand continuously, with frequent bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and occasional sitting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and over 50 lbs occasionally, with or without accommodations.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and establish effective relationships.

Desired

  • Knowledge of custodial functions and procedures.
  • Dependability and leadership ability.

Work Schedule

Shifts are as follows:

  • First Shift: Mon-Fri 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Second Shift: Mon-Fri 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm
  • Third Shift: Mon-Fri 11:00 pm – 7:00 am
  • Off-Shift: Hours vary by scheduled days.

Pay Rate

$17.03/hr
