Custodian Job at Middleburysnowbowl in Middlebury

The custodian performs essential custodial tasks, maintains flooring, and prepares rooms for students and guests. Completes event setups using the Event Management report and provided diagrams.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $18.81-23.04 per hour.

Core Responsibilities

• Cleans, maintains, and disinfects all interior and exterior components of college facilities, including contents. Inspects, operates, and maintains equipment.
• Moves and resets furniture routinely for new or normal setups, including for events, based on provided diagrams and instructions.
• Follows established protocols and training to safely clean substances potentially containing bloodborne pathogens.
• Collects and removes trash, recycling, and compost; ensures proper bins with signage for effective sorting.
• Conducts routine inspections of building components and safety devices following department protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Uses, orders, and restocks supplies responsibly.
• Works cooperatively with others, accepts direction from supervisors, and performs additional duties as needed to support the department's mission. Performs all duties safely and professionally, adhering to departmental practices and procedures.

Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment. Demonstrates professional communication skills, ability to follow oral and written instructions, establish positive relations, develop schedules, and manage time effectively. Must read and interpret floor plans and event diagrams accurately. Good attendance is essential. Ability to work independently and in teams with minimal supervision.

Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and the ability to obtain a Middlebury College driver’s license.

Physical abilities include frequent lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, walking, stair/ladder climbing. Work is performed across multiple buildings in various weather conditions, requiring mobility and manual strength. Must be available for flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends.
