Qualifications: This position requires knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work, along with the ability to maintain school buildings and grounds in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
Must possess the ability to use cleaning materials and equipment skillfully and efficiently; perform heavy physical labor; understand and follow oral and written directions; and maintain cooperative working relationships.
One year of experience in custodial or general labor work is required. Applicants must have the ability to read and write at a level necessary to perform the duties of the position.
MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE. MUST SUBMIT A RECENT DMV (3 YEAR MINIMUM) DRIVING RECORD WITH APPLICATION.
The successful candidate will be trained and responsible for the Kern High School District's needs regarding asbestos and hazardous materials.
A criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment will be required prior to employment.
Duties: Under supervision, perform general cleaning, custodial functions, grounds maintenance, and gardening work at an assigned school site. Exercises responsibility for the general cleanliness of assigned locations and performs various duties related to upkeep of the school site.
Starting Salary: $3,180.37 (monthly)
Number of Months: 12 (to begin as soon as possible)
Number of Hours: 8 hours daily, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
