ComEd Rec Center is hiring: Custodian in Oregon

ASM Global, the world’s leader in venue and event management, is looking for part-time Custodians to join our Operations team at The Oncenter Convention Center, Arena, and Theaters.

FLSA Status: Part-Time/Non-Exempt

Available Shifts: Varies

Union Code: Yes; Local 158 Int. Union of Operating Engineers

Union Dues: Yes

Pay Rate: $16.50/hour

The Role

As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all facilities, including restrooms, event spaces, corridors, offices, suites, lobbies, escalators, elevators, docks, and exterior grounds.

What to Expect

• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
• Communicate effectively with management to address building needs, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met.
• Clean and polish fixtures, lights, glass, walls, stairs, and railings.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Operate housekeeping machinery and tools.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED, and 1-3 months related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Skills Needed

• Ability to perform routine housekeeping tasks independently.
• Effective communication skills.
• Self-motivated with good judgment.
• Customer service skills and guest relations etiquette.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform cleaning tasks for extended periods.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift 75+ lbs, bend, stoop, and move around the facility.
• Tolerance for outdoor conditions and exposure to dust and cleaning agents.
