Primary Purpose: Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy objects.
- Proper handling of cleaning supplies.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Cleaning
- Maintain a cleaning schedule for floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
- Keep school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas, neat and clean.
- Comply with laws and procedures for trash storage and disposal.
- Assist with inventory of cleaning supplies and request additional supplies as needed.
Maintenance and Repair
- Assist with lunchroom setup, including arranging tables and chairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance for safety and comfort.
- Regulate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Make minor repairs and report major repairs to the principal.
- Move furniture or equipment as directed.
- Assist in setting up for special events.
Safety
- Assist with opening and closing the building daily.
- Follow procedures for locking and safeguarding facilities.
- Ensure exit doors and panic bolts are functional during occupancy.
- Inspect machinery and equipment for safety and efficiency.
- Operate tools safely.
- Follow safety procedures during physical tasks.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Equipment Used: Buffer, stripper, vacuum cleaners, electric drill, hand tools, shampooer, lawn mower, edger, weed eater.
Working Conditions: Frequent walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting. Work indoors and outdoors, exposure to temperature extremes, dust, and chemicals.
