Position: Full Time Janitor (TEMP position)

Eligibility: Set aside position for a person with a disability.

Requirements:

  3. Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance by passing a criminal background check and drug screening

Working Hours: 1:30pm - 10:30pm, Monday - Friday

Hourly Wage: $19.83

Introduction:

Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs those cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
  2. Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash in prescribed manner.
  3. Dust horizontal surfaces.
  4. Empty and wash ashtrays.
  5. Wax and buff floors with prescribed buffers.
  6. Clean glass and windows.
  7. Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
  8. Sweep and clear snow from outside steps and sidewalks.
  9. Polish kick panels, doorknobs, and other designated fixtures.
  10. Strip and wax floors.
  11. Vacuum rugs.
  12. Mix cleaning solutions.
  13. Maintain issued equipment.
  14. Notify supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasks.
  15. All other duties assigned by Custodial Foreman.

Physical Qualifications:

The incumbent must be able to stand 80% of the work time, walk 15%, and sit 5%. Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds. Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle.

Qualifications:

Must have three to six months training or experience, or be capable of learning to perform the essential functions. Must be able to pass security clearance for designated contracts.
