Position Details

- Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Pay: $17.97/hour
- Location: 3700 O St NW, Washington, DC 20057
Responsibilities
- Perform general and specific cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.
- Follow detailed cleaning plans and emergency procedures as directed by supervisors.
- Represent the department professionally to the university community and visitors.
- Maintain knowledge of departmental and university rules, regulations, and policies.
- Collaborate with Facilities staff and be flexible with scheduling to handle emergencies like snow removal or spills.
Work Interactions
This role reports to a Custodial Supervisor and may also report to the Night Operations Manager. The incumbent will work alone or with others, performing tasks as assigned, including emergency responses like snow removal and flooding mitigation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of custodial experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license from MD, VA, or DC.
- Basic English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Ability to communicate custodial and maintenance issues clearly.
- Completion of a building cleaning training program.
