EmergencyMD is hiring: Custodian I in City of Amsterdam

Custodian I (Nights)

FLSA: Non Exempt

Reports To: Custodian Supervisor

Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, walking, and climbing

Hours of Work: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, 4:00 pm – 12:00 am. Additional hours as needed.

Pay Range: $17.13-$22.09

Job Summary: Custodian I will be responsible for maintaining the building appearance and cleanliness at multiple locations, including but not limited to 40 Wall Street, Amsterdam, and 47 Liberty Drive, Amsterdam.

Job Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED preferred.
2. Two years of experience in custodial services.
3. Good working knowledge of cleaning equipment and procedures preferred.
4. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
5. Valid NYS Driver's license meeting agency standards and reliable transportation.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Maintain facilities according to specifications for custodial maintenance as assigned.
2. Provide backup for Custodial Supervisor as required.
3. Maintain equipment as needed.
4. Manage materials inventory and request supplies as necessary.
5. Follow all department and agency policies and procedures.
6. Follow safe operating procedures when using tools, including knives and cutting devices, which are considered tools of the trade and are exempt from the knives restriction outlined in the Workplace Violence Prevention Policy.
7. Provide person-centered individual attention to all individuals supported.
